Sometime around the year 2000 a group of Lancaster Spiritual leaders traveled around Lancaster County and identified 12 spiritual gates to the county. Their goal was to see a prayer group developed at each of the gates. One of those gates was New Holland. As a result, local spiritual leaders began an East Gate prayer group in 2000. This group met together to pray for our region for nine years. The original East Gate prayer group was adopted into the Elanco Ministerium in 2009 making the name “eastgate” available once again.
In the Spring of 2011 another group of passionate worshippers that were praying and seeking the Lord for our region since 2008, heard the very clear voice of the Lord directing us to start a House of Prayer in the Eastern Lancaster County area. After a dream and a powerful prayer time where the Lord again spoke prophetically, and the backing of our local church elders, Eastgate House of Prayer was officially launched September 6, 2011.
